VFX & Visual Feedback
VFX Design / Visual Communication / Technical Upskilling
Developing VFX skills came from a need to better support the projects I was working on, rather than as a separate discipline. I believe strong gameplay design often requires understanding how systems are visually communicated, and learning VFX allowed me to improve that connection between mechanics and player experience.
This approach has shaped how I work across projects — being willing to learn new tools and disciplines when they help create a stronger final experience.
TOOLS:
Unreal Engine • Unity • Niagara • Shader Graph • Material Systems
Across multiple projects, I have developed VFX skills as a way to better support gameplay design and player experience. Rather than treating visual effects as separate from design, I use them as a tool to improve readability, communicate system states, and reinforce the feel of player actions.
This has included combat effects, ability feedback, environmental VFX, and shaders, with a focus on ensuring that visual language supports the gameplay experience being created.
KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
